Aidan Cairns, an 8-year-old Basking Ridge resident with cerebral palsy, has qualified to throw shot put and the javelin in the upcoming National Junior Disability Championships.

“I was disappointed I didn’t qualify for the wheelchair but then I remembered I qualified for two things so then I was happy,” the determined athlete told New Jersey Hills.
