Fernandez is a mixed media artist and a senior and Honors art student at Caldwell University, where he is majoring with a B.F.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in mixed media, and minoring in Art History. He is also a Bridgewater resident.
"As a mixed media artist, I seek to employ a wide variety of materials, as well as combinations of them, to break boundaries of creativity, dimension and communication. My preference not to settle with one medium or approach renders every project a unique experience, each with exciting ideas, risks, and discoveries," said Fernandez.

His creativity and passion for art began at a young age and evolved throughout the years. Originally he was interested in illustration and cartooning.
"I would doodle in my notebook pad and create my own drawings and cartoons," said Fernandez.
When he reached middle school age, he came to realize art was a passion that he wanted to pursue as a career. It has since evolved into graphic design and from there into mixed media.
Additionally, he became interested in art history and curating.
"I would like to sincerely thank the Bernards Township Library for providing me with the wonderful opportunity to showcase my art," said Fernandez. "Libraries have always been, and continue to be, sources of inspiration and learning, and I am delighted to be able to give back to such important cornerstones of our community."
