Basking Ridge Artist Awarded 2nd Place At NJ Senior Citizen Art Show
The 10 artists received first place, second place, and honorable mentions in several professional and non-professional artistic categories.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ—A Basking Ridge artist was among 10 seniors from Somerset County who were named winners in the 2024 State Senior Citizen Art Show.
The group of 10 artists received first place, second place, and honorable mentions in several professional and non-professional artistic categories.
Carol Lynn of Basking Ridge was awarded second place for her artwork entitled "Sign Your Name Here" in the Works on Paper non-professional category.

Prior to the State Show, the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission recognized 47 senior artists at an honorary reception for their artistry and workmanship on Sept. 10.
Their artwork was displayed inside the County’s Administration Building from Aug. 2 to Sept. 9 for the 2024 Senior Art Show.

"Our senior residents have tremendous talent and Somerset County is proud to publicly showcase their amazing artwork," said Commissioner Melonie Marano, liaison to the Cultural & Heritage Commission. "I want to thank all of the artists that participated this year and congratulate those that were featured and won in the State Show!"
In total, 19 artists were chosen to advance to the 2024 State Senior Citizen Art Show at the Meadow Lakes Senior Center in East Windsor, which runs from Oct. 5 to Oct. 30.
