The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature as summer arrives in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

Xtreme Adventure: Waterfalls

Tuesday, July 14 from 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Adventurers ages 13 to 16 will explore hiking trails that lead to hidden
waterfalls for a day of swimming and fun in the woods.,
Fee is $50 per person.

Coyote Kids
Sundays, July 19 & 26; August 2 & 9 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon
Children age 4 to 6 will enjoy a 4-day nature program including hikes, live
animals, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and water play. The
program will focus on a different theme each day.
Fee is $100 per person for the 4-day session.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Family Nature Walk – FREE PROGRAM
Sunday, July 19 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M.
Family and friends will enjoy a Naturalist-led interpretive walk
through the Great Swamp.
The program is free and pre-registration is not required.
Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
