New Jersey Highlands Coalition' Juried Art Exhibit In Basking Ridge

This exhibit features an impressive mix of photography, oil and watercolor paintings, mixed media and sculpture.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The New Jersey Highlands Coalition announces its Entr’Exhibit: Your Water, Your Future, at Farmstead Arts in Basking Ridge.

This special show is held in between (entr’exhibit) the Annual Highlands Juried Art Exhibit as an opportunity to further highlight the intersection of the Highlands natural beauty and the Highlands Coalition’s mission to protect the places that inspire our creativity.

This exhibit features an impressive mix of photography, oil and watercolor paintings, mixed media and sculpture. The art focuses on the landscapes, flora, fauna and historic and cultural resources of the four-state Highlands Region, with particular emphasis on the New Jersey Highlands.

The artists are well known throughout the region and include: Linda Aldrich, Peter Aldrich, Mitchell Brozinsky, Linda Calvet, Jessica Cavaliere, Janet Cunniffe-Chieffo, Charles Dexter, Todd Doney, Doris Ettlinger, Seth Ruggles Hiler, Paul Jach, Marv Kaminsky, Andrea Kelly, Rafal Goraczniak, Judith Lieberman, Lisa Madson, Dennis Maida, Michael McFadden, Angelo Marciallis, Patricia Mueller, Elaine Norman, Kim Parker, Ewa Pokora, Don Riemer, Ken Ross, Christopher Smith, Jeremy Travis, Miroslav Vrzala, Mary Waltham, Leslie Wisniewski and Barry Zawacki.

The public is welcome to attend a reception honoring the artists on Jan. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Farmstead Arts Center.

The reception and general admission to the exhibit are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Through events such as the Highlands Art Exhibit, the New Jersey Highlands Coalition promotes awareness about the beauty, and cultural and natural resources of the NJ Highlands region.

As a nonprofit organization in Boonton, New Jersey, the Coalition advocates for the protection of the water and other natural and cultural resources of the Highlands.

The New Jersey Highlands region encompasses eighty-eight municipalities in Bergen, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren counties. The regions' natural resources are protected under the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act, enacted to protect the drinking water for 6.2 million people in NJ as well as the numerous natural resource values our quality of life depends on.

The Annual Juried Highlands Art Exhibit, founded by New Jersey photographer and Coalition trustee Dwight Hiscano, is organized by Donna Compton and the staffs of the New Jersey Highlands Coalition and Farmstead Arts.
