By Somerset County

Due to repair work being conducted by NJ Transit, the railroad crossing on Whitenack Road will be closed to ALL TRAFFIC starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, for 24-72 hours.

The railroad crossing closure will impact a detour route that has been in place for the Mount Airy Road (County Route 525) reconstruction project. NJ Transit will temporarily modify the existing detour. Instead of using Whitenack Road, cars will be guided to Meeker Road, while trucks will be directed to Liberty Corner Road via Mine Brook Road and Douglas Road.
