Report: Bernards School District Sports Program Ranked 9th in State
Niche.com, a website dedicated to evaluating schools based on parent and student reviews, ranked the best sports programs in New Jersey.

The Bernards Township School District sports program has been ranked in the top 10 best in the state of New Jersey, according to a report.
Niche.com, a website dedicated to evaluating U.S. and Puerto Rican schools based on parent and student reviews, ranked the best sports programs by school district in New Jersey. Bernards Township School District came in at No. 9.
The ranking of best sports programs gives a “comprehensive assessment” of the quality of the sports and fitness programs offered by school districts, Niche.com said. The website uses various government and public data, as well as their own proprietary data.

Student and parent opinions are heavily weighted in the rankings, carrying 45 percent of the weight in considered factors.
Additional factors and their considered weight include: number of sports, 20 percent; female athletes, 15 percent; male athletes, 15 percent; and expenses per student, 5 percent.

Bernards Township School District received a 4.3 out of 5 from 22 respondents on the parent/student surveys. The school district has 31 sports and its reported expenses per students is $15,553, according to Niche.com.

- “The athletic department at my school is truly tremendous, with a variety of sports to choose from and teams for all grades from freshman year to senior year. Team cooperation is great, and sportsmanship is at its highest here.”
