BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township School Board is looking for someone to fill a vacancy after Csilla Csipak resigned.

"Unfortunately, Ms. Csipak had to resign her position on the Board for personal family reasons," said Superintendent Nick Markarian at the Monday Board of Education(BOE) meeting.

Csipak was elected in November 2022 after running under the campaign slogan "For Bernards Children" along with Nimish Amin, Keith Molinari, and Lawrence Rascio.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Morristown Medical Center for their outstanding care and for the loving support of our local community," said Csipak to Patch.

The school board is currently accepting applications for Csipak's vacancy through 4 p.m. on Friday, May 30. The BOE will review the applications and select a candidate at the June 16 Board of Education meeting.

The selected candidate will fill out the remainder of Csipak's term through December 2025.

If the successful candidate wants to serve on the school board beyond 2025 they must file with the Somerset County Clerk’s office to run in the November BOE 2025 election.

"Anyone interested in filling that post will need to plan to run in the next election for the Board of Ed," said Markarian.

Interested applicants should carefully read and review the information here and then submit the provided application form along with the requested documents to Christina Hendricks at chendricks@bernardsboe.com.
