Up to a total of five digital photos, in color or black and white, can be submitted for the website and the guide. Entries will be reviewed by both Somerset County and the Business Partnership.

Electronic submissions can be sent to photocontest@co.somerset.nj.us. CD’s can be mailed to Somerset County Photo Contest, County Administrator’s Office, P.O. Box 3000, Somerville, NJ 08876. Entries will not be returned.

Photo Contest entries should reflect one of five themes:

  • Community – for example, neighborhoods, important local places
  • Natural Environment – for example, lakes, rivers, forests, parks, or wildlife
  • Architecture and Urban Design – including plazas, buildings, boulevards, etc.
  • Transportation – for example, streets, buses, trains, bicycle & pedestrian paths
  • Arts & Culture – including museums, events, entertainment, public art, etc.

A completed entry form must be submitted with each photo. Contestants are responsible for acquiring photo releases from identifiable individuals featured in the photographs. See photo contest instructions for more information.

A panel of judges will select a winner and runner up for each Photo Contest theme, as well as an overall contest winner. Winners will be notified by mail or e-mail. Top entries may be showcased on the redesigned county website and on printed materials.
