Summer Improvement Work Set To Begin At Bernards Township Schools

Many projects will be conducted over the summer, including district-wide asphalt pathway and sidewalk repairs, flooring replacement & more.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — With just over a week left of the 2024-25 school year, the district is already preparing for summer work to begin.

"Preparations have been made to begin many maintenance projects as soon as students go home for the summer," said Superintendent Nick Markarian in the Friday Folder.

  • Mount Prospect School - the campus is closed this summer as the building will be get a new roof. In addition, many exterior doors are being replaced, and the wall around the playground at the front of the school is being replaced with a fence
  • Ridge High School - brick repointing in the front of the building
  • Oak Street School - brick repointing and repairs at the ramp access to the building on the Oak Street side of the school.
  • Liberty Corner School - new case work in the art room
  • Flooring replacement in various locations at Ridge, Cedar Hill, Liberty Corner, and Mount Prospect
  • District-wide asphalt pathway and sidewalk repairs
  • District-wide replacement of phone systems

In addition to these special improvement projects, the Bernards Township School District's in-house maintenance and custodial teams will be hard at work making assorted repairs and giving the buildings a deep clean to prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, according to Markarian.

The last two days of school are Thursday, June 19, and Friday, June 20. Students are dismissed early as schools will be following their abbreviated day schedules.

Graduation for William Annin Middle School is on Thursday, June 19, and graduation for Ridge High School is on Friday, June 20.

Communications from principals for details on each school’s end-of-the-year events will be sent to parents.
