WEATHER ALERT: Basking Ridge Bracing As 4 To 8 Inches 'Heavy Snow' On The Way
The National Weather service extended its winter weather advisory for Basking Ridge and the region as more snow heads this way.

The punches keep rolling in New Jersey, as Basking Ridge and the rest of the region is expected to get up to half a foot of snow Wednesday into Thursday.
The National Weather Service has extended its Winter Storm Warning for “heavy snow”, which is in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 7 p.m. Thursday.
The winter storm warning calls for 4 to 8 inches of snow Wednesday night into Thursday. Rain will mix with sleet and snow this evening, before changing to just snow by midnight.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow may be heavy at times late tonight through Thursday morning, before tapering off Thursday evening.
The weather will create for hazardous driving conditions Wednesday night and Thursday as visibility is expected to be between one quarter mile and one half mile at times. Additionally, icy roads and snow will create hazardous travel conditions.

- Wednesday: Showers likely before 3 p.m., then rain likely after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Wednesday Night: Sleet before 9 p.m., then snow. Low around 23. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
- Thursday: Snow, mainly before 4 p.m. High near 26. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
- Thursday Night: A chance of snow before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -4. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Friday: Sunny, with a high near 26. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
- Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10.
