• It's Official: New Year, New Mayor in Bayonne (tapinto.net) — Bayonne residents will see a new mayor on January 1, 2026, as Mayor Jimmy Davis resigns to become Hudson County Sheriff and the City Council moves to appoint an interim replacement. Public Safety Director Robert “Red” Kubert is Davis’s preferred choice, but if the council doesn’t act within 30 days, Council President Gary LaPelus will step in until the July 2026 election.
