2 Home Burglaries Reported In Nutley: Police

Nutley PD: One burglary took place on Sharlene Road, and another took place on Wayside Lane.

NUTLEY, NJ — Two home burglaries were recently reported in Nutley, police say.

On Monday, the Nutley Police Department released the following details about two recent incidents that took place in the township:

June 8 (Sharlene Road) – “Officers observed a white BMW parked in the middle of the street, honking the horn several times then proceed to flee the scene while two actors had entered a vehicle parked in the resident’s driveway and left the scene. A rear window was observed opened with the screen off to the side. Officers cleared the interior of the residence and observed several drawers and storage areas rummaged through while the exterior was also cleared with negative results for any suspects. Contact was made with the residents who were advised of the incident due to them not being home at the time of the burglary. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised and arrived on scene.”

June 9 (Wayside Lane) – “Officers responded on report of a burglary. The residents stated that they heard a loud noise coming from their kitchen and upon checking, they were confronted with a male suspect who ultimately exited through a window and fled the scene in a white SUV. Officers observed damage to the window. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised and arrived on scene.”
