$20K in Items Stolen as 2 Homes Burglarized in 2 Days

TV, cash, video game system among items stolen as police probe incidents on Washington and Whitford avenues.

More than $20,000 worth of items, a TV, cash and a video game system were reported stolen in a pair of home burglaries last week in Nutley, police said.

According to a Nutley police report, the occupant of an apartment on Washington Avenue reported several items were missing from their home on Saturday, June 15. The resident reported a 42-inch flat screen TV, cash, Xbox 360 game system and various other items had been stolen.

Police believe entry was gained through an open rear window.

Two days later, police responded to a burglary in the area of Whitford Avenue. The resident told police the front door had been forced open and the master bedroom had been ransacked when they arrived home.

Police said several items were removed from the home and the approximate value was more than $20,000.

Police are investigating both burglaries.
