Grinch Tries To Ruin Christmas In Belleville, Cops Foil His Plans

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Christmas is safe in Belleville once again now that a “grinchy” green holiday bandit is in police custody.
Earlier this week, Belleville authorities announced that they have apprehended the Grinch, who now faces charges of “attempted theft of Christmas.”
The town’s tongue-in-cheek holiday parody included a storyline that played out for days on social media, following the Grinch as he was spotted at locations throughout Belleville – including staged drone footage during the township’s annual Christmas tree lighting event.

After reviewing the evidence and giving him due process, the Grinch was arrested last week, police said. He was last seen sleeping it off inside the Belleville Police Department cell block.
“No sack of stolen Christmas cheer in sight, no escape attempts reported – just one very tired green suspect doing hard time on a steel bed,” police reported.

On Sunday, the infamous holiday bandit was escorted straight from the cell block, paraded past a crowd of families and kids, and loaded into a Belleville police vehicle.
Hundreds of people came out to witness the “perp walk,” enjoy cookies, collect police badges, and grab photos with the now-not-so-mean Grinch.
