32nd Annual Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade
The parade will kick off at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday October 12 at Belleville High School.

Over 1,000 participants are expected to march in the 32nd annual Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade, according to The Nutley Sun.
Prior to the start of the parade, there will be wreath laying ceremonies in both individual towns. The first ceremony will take place in Belleville at 9:00 a.m. and the second will take place at 11:00 a.m. in Nutley.
The parade route will begin at Belleville High School, march through the streets of both towns, ending at Nutley’s Park Oval.

Marching bands, various Italian-American groups and the Belleville and Nutley police and fire departments will be participating in the parade, reports The Nutley Sun. The Arma dei Carabinieri, the Italian police, will also be marching.
“They [Carabinieri] are celebrating their 200th anniversary, so it’ll be a special time for them [and] us as well,” Fr. Thomas Nicastro, of St. Mary’s Church told The Nutley Sun. Nicastro is also the president of the Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade Committee.

According to The Nutley Sun, the parade committee is hoping to create a “street fair-like atmosphere,” that will include face painting for children.
This year the parade committee will also be honoring 10 individuals, all of who have been selected by the executive committee, reports The Nutley Sun.
