A Belleville Girl Shines on the Court
And the County's Going to Take Care of Some of Those Lingering Leaves
Brittany Turner, a Belleville native and member of the Rutgers-Camden women's basketball team, scored a game-high 20 points in their recent game against Montclair State. Although her team ultimately lost to the Red Hawks, we figured Turner's effort still earned a shout-out from us. Click here to read more about the game.
Just another friendly reminder about tonight's meeting of the Belleville Township Council, which will be held at 6 pm at Town Hall, 152 Washington Ave. The timing may not be convenient for a lot of people, but if you can, try and make it -- the council is considering a proposal to build senior housing at a Washington Avenue location.
Here's some news from neighboring Bloomfield that may affect your commute in the coming months -- the Watchung Avenue bridge near Exit 150 off the Parkway is going to be rebuilt. We'll have a story about this in a few days, but here's some information about the project.
Leaf collection along county roads in Belleville begins today and continues until Dec. 10. The leaf collection is performed by the County of Essex. For more information call 973-239-3366, ext. 2220.
St. Peter's Church, 155 William St., will be holding a Monday night Bible study class from 7 to 9 pm. The class will be held in the rectory, which is entered through the back door of the church.
