A Nutley resident who sought to bring a bowling alley to the township has instead dropped his plan, according to a published report Sunday.
After two month of hearings before the Nutley Zoning Board, Jim Grueter has decided to withdraw is application for 184 Franklin Ave., a NorthJersey.com report said.
Grueter’s attorney Thomas DiBiasi said his client “did not want to cause friction with the businesses and residents of the neighborhoods.”

The alley, featuring 12 bowling lanes, an upscale juice bar, lounge, seating area and game center, would have replaced a medical building on the site.
In February, residents complained about the proposal at a zoning board meeting, expressing concern about the parking lot only having 17 spaces for a business seating 135 customers, the report said.
