BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville has canceled its 2024 National Night Out event due to forecasts of bad weather.

The town’s annual event – which also takes place in other towns across the nation – is held to build partnerships and trust between police and the community. It was scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The township issued the following update about the cancellation: “We regret to inform you that due to the strong potential for bad weather this afternoon and evening, National Night Out will be canceled. We look forward to seeing you next year!”
