Belleville Man With Deep Ties To Town Dies At 63: Thomas Grolimond

Grolimond served as a town inspector, a school board trustee, a planning board member and chair of the Belleville Historic Commission.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Thomas Grolimond, a lifelong Belleville resident with deep ties to the township, died on Sept. 11, 2024. He was 63.

According to his obituary, Grolimond worked for years as a town inspector in Belleville, retiring in January. He also served as a trustee of the Belleville Board of Education, chair of the Belleville Historic Commission, and as a member of the Belleville Planning Board.

As a Belleville resident who “took great pride in his community,” Grolimond also served as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kiwanis Club. He will be remembered for his “kind heart, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.”

Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue, on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral mass celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street in Belleville on Monday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m.
