Burglary, Attempted Burglary Reported In Nutley Over 2-Day Span: Police
A Nutley resident heard a noise and found an unknown man in their home. Here's what happened next, police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — A burglary and an attempted burglary were recently reported in Nutley over a two-day span, authorities say.
The Nutley Police Department released the following details about two incidents that took place in the township:
- July 27 (Burglary) – “Officers responded on report of a burglary on Rutgers Place. The victim stated that they heard a noise and upon going to check, they observed an unknown male party inside their residence. They stated that the suspect fled through a window and left the scene. The victim advised officers that they were still in possession of their vehicle’s key fobs, but believed the suspect took their purse containing their wallet. The surrounding area was canvassed for further information, and the Detective Bureau was advised and arrived on scene.”
- July 28 (Attempted Burglary) – “A Dogwood Lane resident advised officers that they observed two male suspects attempt to open the rear door to their residence, but were unsuccessful due to it being locked. They stated that the suspects fled the scene in a white BMW sedan. The Detective Bureau was advised.”
