Drive-By Shooting In Nutley On July 4th Holiday, Vehicle Flees Scene: Police

The suspects reportedly shot at the victim from a vehicle, which fled the scene afterwards, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ -- A shooting took place in Nutley in the early morning hours on the July 4th holiday, authorities say.

The Nutley Police Department released the following details about Friday's shooting:

"Nutley police are investigating a shooting incident that took place on Passaic Avenue between Conover Avenue and Hancox Avenue at approximately 2:25 a.m. this morning. This incident is actively being investigated, and it has been reported the suspects shot at the victim from a light-colored vehicle that fled south on Passaic Avenue. The Nutley Police Departments Detective Bureau is actively investigating this incident."

"This investigation revealed this was an isolated incident only related to the parties involved and there is no threat to the general public at this time," police added.
