Drug Dealer Caught With Pot, Pills, Police Say
20-year-old Newark man faces drug charges after traffic stop in Belleville.

A Newark man was arrested for possession of MDMA and intent to distribute during a traffic stop in Belleville, police said.
Belleville police stopped a red Honda after seeing it speeding on Joralemon Street and make a right onto Washington Avenue without signaling on Tuesday, June 11 at about 11:30 p.m., according to a police report.
Raw marijuana was smelled coming from the vehicle, police said.

The passenger, Raul Pescoran, 20, of Newark, was clutching a bag of marijuana and dropped the drugs when asked him to open his hand, police said.
Pescoran was found in possession of 15 yellow-and-blue MDMA pills in a plastic container, police said. Pescoran also had a bag containing 36 smaller bags, and a clear bag containing 70 empty pink-and-white pill tablets, police said.

Pescoran was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of MDMA and possession of CDS with intent to distribute. He was later released on his own recognizance.
The driver of the Honda was issued summonses for failure to signal, and for having CDS in a motor vehicle.
