Suspect in Shooting of Belleville Man Turns Himself In
The man wanted in connection with the weekend shooting death of a Belleville man in Bloomfield surrendered to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday. According to a report on NJ.com, his lawyer Steve Brown stressed his innocence but otherwise Tonic did not offer comment.

On Monday, the CEO and Nutley native Martha Stewart announced on the Today Show she had signed up for the match-making site Match.com, the New York Daily News reported. Stewart said she isn't looking for a soulmate, but said she'd "like to have breakfast with somebody, I'd like to go to bed with somebody."
Man Pleads Guilty in Slaying of Newark Police Officer

A man pleaded guilty Wednesday to manslaughter in the shooting death of a Newark police detective outside a Paterson strip club in 2011, NorthJersey.com reported. Jerome Wright pleaded guilty in Passaic County to aggravated manslaughter and two counts of robbery in the slaying of Michael Morgan, 32, of Belleville. Wright faced life in prison without parole if he had been convicted of murder.
'Tanning Mom' Readies Debut Rap Single
The website RumorFix reports that Nutley's Patricia Krentcil, infamously known as Tanning Mom, recorded her debut rap single, which opens with the tantalizing salvo "It's tan mom, b----," at a New York recording studio in late April. Krentcil told RumorFix that the backing track of the song “It’s Tan Mom” was cobbled together from parts of hits like Rihanna’s “Diamonds In The Sky" and that her lyrics were largely improvised.
Adult and Infant Hospitalized After Late-Night Fire
A woman and a child were treated for injuries after escaping their home through a second floor window during a Wednesday night house fire in Belleville. Belleville Fire Department Battalion Chief Timothy Buckley said the woman and the 2-year-old child escaped the fire by stepping out of a second floor window onto the roof of a single story addition of their home.
