Free Workshop On Property Taxes In Nutley: ANCHOR, Senior Freeze
Representatives from the state will be on hand to explain the programs, address questions and assist with applications.

Mayor John Kelly III in partnership with Assemblywoman Carmen Morales and the New Jersey State Treasury Department recently announced plans to hold a free seminar addressing the ANCHOR program and Senior Freeze Program (Property Tax Reimbursement) on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from noon to 3 p.m. in Room 300 at 44 Park Avenue.

The ANCHOR program— short for the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters — replaces the Homestead Rebate. There are no age restrictions. It includes homeowners and renters and is expected to provide payments up to $1,500 for eligible homeowners and up to $450 for eligible renters. Eligible senior homeowners and renters can receive an additional $250.

The Senior Freeze Program (Property Tax Reimbursement) - reimburses eligible senior citizens and disabled persons for property tax or mobile home park site fee increases on their principal residence (main home). To qualify, you must meet all the eligibility requirements for each year from the base year through the application year.
