Memorial Day Parade Marches Through Nutley Monday
Annual parade schedule announced.

This week, Nutley Mayor Alphonse Petracco and the Board of Commissioners announced plans for the Township’s Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday at 11 a.m.
Weather permitting, a brief opening ceremony will be held in the Nutley Park Oval at 10:45 a.m., with the parade route being the same as previous years: Chestnut Street to Passaic Avenue to Centre Street to Franklin Avenue, with reviewing stage in front of JHW Middle School.
Msgr. Paul Bochicchio of Holy Family Church will be the clergy member to offer the prayers at the opening ceremonies, and this year’s parade’s Grand Marshall is Steven Rogers Jr.

“The Memorial Day Parade serves as a wonderful tribute to our veterans who were lost at war,” Mayor Petracco said.
The Mayor will again invite family members of soldiers, both past and present, to march in the parade, and is collecting names of those in our community who are currently serving. These names will be added to an already existing banner which will proudly be carried throughout the parade, and then displayed on the Nutley Park Oval fence outside of the Town Hall.

Also, the Mayor’s Office and with the Nutley Veteran’s Council, will be working to keep the flow of the opening ceremonies and parade moving smoothly, especially if inclement weather is expected.
