BELLEVILLE-NUTLEY, NJ — Longtime Nutley resident Phil Cuzzi, who grew up in Belleville, recently spoke about his career as a Major League Baseball umpire in the latest installment of a township podcast.

The Essex County resident has been working as a MLB umpire for more than 25 years, a lifetime of experience he was happy to discuss during an episode of “Inside Nutley” (watch the video below).

Cuzzi spoke on a wide range of topics, including his work with the Robert Luongo ALS Fund, growing up in Belleville, moving to and living in Nutley, and – of course – stories from the world of Major League Baseball.

Mayor Joseph Scarpelli announced the launch of the Inside Nutley podcast series last year. Featuring host, Thomas Greco, the podcast has included several local elected officials, the town historian, and the town’s municipal judge.
