Some Nutley foodies might recognize the location as the former home of the Franklin Steakhouse. After that restaurant closed, a new eatery took over the space: the Hudson Rose. See Related: Former Steakhouse Reborn As New Restaurant In Nutley

The Hudson Rose eventually closed, holding its final day of service in July. However, its management team said they were cooking up something new in its place.

That new project has apparently manifested this week at Bacarosa.

"We loved everything The Hudson Rose stood for and now we’re turning the page to something a little more convivial and a lot more Italian," Chef Andrew Riccatelli said.

"Bacarosa is a place where bold flavors and fresh ingredients come together and every meal feels like a celebration," Riccatelli added. "We can’t wait to share what we've been cooking up with our guests."

According to GAC Hospitality, the restaurant’s private event space, The Harlow Room, remains available for gatherings of up to 200 guests.
