NJ-34 Assembly Election Results: Morales, Venezia Win, AP Projects
Candidates include Demetrius Eley, Lorenzo Marchese Jr., Carmen Morales, and Michael Venezia. Here's who is leading the race.

UPDATE: The Associated Press has projected that Carmen Morales and Michael Venezia are the winners of the New Jersey Assembly race in District 34. The results remain uncertified; 93 percent of the votes were counted as of 9:36 p.m. on Nov. 4.
Election Day has arrived for New Jersey voters, including residents of the 34th Legislative district.
On Tuesday, Garden State residents went to the polls to vote for two New Jersey Assembly seats in the 34th district, which includes the municipalities of Belleville, Bloomfield, East Orange, Glen Ridge, Nutley and Orange.

Candidates included Demetrius Eley (Republican), Lorenzo Marchese Jr. (Republican), Carmen T. Morales (Democrat) and Michael Venezia (Democrat). Terms last for two years.

With 93 percent of the votes counted, here are the unofficial results from the Associated Press:
- Carmen T. Morales – 44,959 votes (39.3%)
- Michael Venezia – 43,795 votes (38.2%)
- Lorenzo Marchese Jr. – 13,236 votes (11.6%)
- Demetrius Eley – 12,544 votes (10.9%)
