Nutley Fire Department Awarded Federal Fire Safety Funding
Grants meant to support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards.

The Nutley Fire Department will receive $18,718 through FEMA's Fire Prevention and Safety program, Senators Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) announced on Friday.
“It is critical that fire departments have the tools necessary to prevent fires and we’ll keep working to ensure our first responders have the resources they need to do the job,” Senator Lautenberg said in the announcement.
Senator Lautenberg said in the announcement that the funding will help the Nutley Fire Department prevent fires and reduce the risk of hazards in local neighborhoods.

“The best defense against the dangers of fire is preventing fires in the first place," Senator Menendez said in the announcement. "This funding is aimed at helping the Nutley Fire Department do exactly that.
The Senators' offices said the Fire Prevention and Safety Grants are part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants and support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. They are meant to reduce injury and prevent death among high-risk populations.
