Nutley To Show Off Public Art At International Day Of Peace Party
The celebration is set to be held Monday in Yanticaw Park.
NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley community on Monday is invited to join the township's second annual International Day of Peace celebration. This year, social distancing and masks are required.
The event, organized by nonprofit organization Nutley Partners for Peace, comes with a lofty goal this year: To create 1,000 paper origami cranes with the help of attendees.
During the event, attendees can also see Nutley Partners for Peace's model version of its proposed public art installation set for Yantacaw Park. The model, shown below, bears the word "unity" on one side and "peace" on another.

The installation commemorates Nutley being named as the 223rd International City of Peace, the first in New Jersey to obtain the title.
The ceremony is set to kick off at 5 p.m. on Monday. In the event of rain, the event will be held on Sept. 30. Origami supplies and instruction will be provided.
