Nutley Town Commissioners Decry Charlie Kirk Shooting: ‘Reject Political Violence’

NUTLEY, NJ — The Nutley Board of Commissioners have issued a statement expressing “strong condemnation” of the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, co-founder and CEO of the conservative youth group Turning Point USA, was shot dead during a college event in Utah on Wednesday.

The Nutley Township Board of Commissioners released a joint statement about the shooting on Friday.

“This act of violence is not just an attack on an individual; it is a serious affront to the democratic values and civil discourse that unite our communities across the country,” the commissioners wrote.
“We offer our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Kirk’s family, loved ones, and all those affected by this abhorrent act,” the statement continues. “No disagreement or political belief can ever justify violence or intimidation. Our township is united in rejecting hatred, extremism, and all forms of political violence. We stand with elected officials and citizens nationwide in calling for a renewed commitment to peaceful engagement, respect, and safety for everyone.”
