Nutley Will Resume Vegetative Waste Collection After Winter Break

NUTLEY, NJ — Got yard waste that you’ve been sitting on, Nutley? Get ready, your chance to dispose of it is just around the bend.
Nutley Township will resume vegetative waste collection on Wednesday, April 5. That includes grass clippings and leaves, yard debris, small branches, twigs and brush, according to a municipal notice.
Here are some things to keep in mind this spring, officials said:

- If homeowners choose to cut and bag their own grass clippings, leaves and yard debris, up to 10 brown biodegradable paper bags will be picked up at a time, on Wednesdays only
- All vegetation must be placed in biodegradable bags. Black/plastic bags will not be collected.
- Loose wood, brush, tree limbs and branches must be cut into four-foot lengths and placed in containers and/or tied in bundles weighing no more than 50 pounds each
- By township ordinance, all landscapers must remove all leaves, grass clipping and vegetative waste from their client’s property
Nutley residents should refrain from putting bags/containers of vegetation out to the curb until the evening of Tuesday, April 4, to be collected on Wednesday, April 5.
Town-wide vegetation collection is an annual service conducted throughout the months of April to December in Nutley.
