Nutley Woman Touches Wire During Basement Flood, Gets Shock: PD
Police: A water heater malfunctioned, flooding the basement of a Nutley home. A woman was shocked when she tried to shut the system down.
NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley woman got a serious electric shock when she accidentally touched a wire during a flood in her basement on Dodd Street last week, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the incident took place when a water heater caused about six inches of water to flood in the woman’s basement. When she tried to shut the system down, she touched a live wire and was shocked.
Police and fire crews responded to the scene and were able to turn the system off.

The woman suffered a minor injury and didn’t go to the hospital, authorities said.
