The workshops assisted seniors with applying to the ANCHOR, Stay NJ or Senior Freeze property tax relief programs.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Three state lawmakers from New Jersey’s 34th district recently hosted a pair of property tax workshops for local seniors in Nutley and Newark.

The workshops – held by Sen. Britnee Timberlake, and Assembly members Carmen Morales and Michael Venezia – assisted seniors with applying to the ANCHOR, Stay NJ or Senior Freeze property tax relief programs.

Representatives from the New Jersey Department of the Treasury were on hand to help attendees apply for property tax relief and answer questions on eligibility, application procedures and deadlines.

“The PAS-1 form simplifies what used to be a confusing application process,” Morales said. “Now, with this new application, seniors can apply to multiple property tax relief programs with one form.”
