BELLEVILLE, NJ — A young angler in Belleville recently put in an impressive showing at an annual fishing derby in Essex County.

Sofia Guevara from Belleville caught the most fish – five – in the girls’ ages 6-10 category at the Essex County Fishing Derby held in Essex County Monte Irvin Orange Park on Tuesday.

Future derbies are scheduled for Irvington Park on May 17, Grover Cleveland Park on May 18, Weequahic Park on May 23, Verona Park on May 24, South Mountain Recreation Complex on May 25 and Branch Brook Park on June 3.
