The release said the production is being directed by Camille Vecchio-DiLorenzo, with a total of 40 performers.

The play is about the story of Jacob's son Joseph, who had the ability to interpret dreams and was sold into slavery by his brothers. Taken to Egypt, Joseph endured many trials, and later became Pharoah's second in command.

When Joseph's brothers arrived in Egypt years later, they did not recognize him at first.

The play is told entirely in song, the release said, with a variety of different musical styles.

Pleasant Valley Productions, the release said, was formed last year, and aims to create a professional theatre experience for local area performers, in addition to providing a large range of musical theatre. The inaugural production, in March, was "Songs for a New World," and the organization has since offered free concerts in West Orange and camps at local schools.

The performances of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will be held at Roosevelt Middle School in West Orange. The Saturday performances will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday performances will be at 2 p.m. and the Monday performances will be at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
