One Violent Crime Reported in Bedminster in 2011

The Uniform Crime Report released by the NJ State Police.

There were almost zero violent crimes reported in Bedminster in 2011, as opposed to 2010, according to state statistics released Friday.

Attorney General Paula Dow released the 2011 Uniform Crime Report Friday with information about crime rates throughout the state, broken down into individual municipalities, and comparing those with numbers determined in 2010.

According to the report, Bedminster saw one violent crime and 51 non-violent crimes in 2011, as opposed to four violent and 45 non-violent crimes in 2010.

As for the breakdown of violent crimes, Bedminster saw zero murders, rapes and robberies and only one aggravated assault in 2011.

Bedminster Township Police Chief Pat Ussery has said that Bedminster usually sees very few violent crimes, and deals more with robberies in its commercial areas.

In 2010, there were zero murders, two rapes, zero robberies and two aggravated assaults.

In Bernardsville Borough, there are also very small changes in the number of crimes reported between 2011 and 2010.

The borough saw two violent crimes in 2011 and 40 non-violent crimes, as opposed to one violent and 38 non-violent ones in 2010.

In terms of the breakdown, Bernardsville saw one murder, zero rapes, zero robberies and one aggravated assault in 2011, as opposed to the only violent crime in 2010 being one aggravated assault.
