On Saturday, December 25th, 2021 at 2:17 P.M. a resident of Anderson Hill Road reported to the police that a visitor to his residence had his vehicle stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was a black 2021 Audi Q7 valued at $69,000.00. The vehicle, which belonged to a resident of Laurelwood Drive in Bernardsville, was unlocked and the key fob for the vehicle was left inside. Additional items including a wallet, purse and an undetermined amount of cash left in the vehicle and are also missing. The incident remains under investigation and the vehicle has not been recovered.

Later that evening, during the overnight hours of December 25 – 26, on Sunday at 4:30 A.M police on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle on Anderson Hill Road and subsequently attempted to stop the vehicle, a 2018 BMW X5, on Mine Brook Road. The vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed and was not pursued in accordance with New Jersey State Attorney General Guidelines for Police Pursuits The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen from a resident in Short Hills NJ.

These incidents remain under investigation by the Bernardsville Police Department Detective Bureau.  Police are asking residents in the area of the reported thefts to review any security cameras recordings they may have to see if they captured any information that might aid police in this investigation.
