Bernardsville Swim Team Hosts Meet of Champions After Winning Season
The Bernardsville Pool hosts the 10 and under competitions in the Meet of Champions on Saturday.
The Bernardsville Pool's swim team wrapped up a 6-1 season of competing with local pool's team this week, and also had the honor Saturday of hosting this year's Meet of Champions for younger swimmers in the annual event.
The Bernardsville Municipal Pool off Seney Drive hosted Saturday's Meet of Champions for swimmers 10 and under in competitions and fun events for swimmers and coaches from 11 area pool swim teams, including Pleasant Valley Pool in Basking Ridge. After wrapping up meets with each other, the swim teams participate each summer in the Meet of Champions.
The 11 and older swimmers in this year's Meet of Champions are scheduled to swim at the Chester Area Pool at 50 North Road in Chester, starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
Bernardsville's Head Swim Coach, Anne Laurita, said that earlier this week the Bernardsville team's combined score put them ahead of Hackettstown, 270 to 155.
The swim team's only loss this summer was to the Stardust team, from Morristown's pool, she said.
