
Bernardsville Police Chief Kevin Valentine said Mount Airy Road was fully open as of about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, after being fully and partially closed for more than a day.
The road in Bernardsville was partially open on Tuesday morning, with southbound traffic still being detoured while work continued in the area of a water main break near Oakley Street, police had said.
Police originally said the road will be closed for most of Monday during the day, and possibly into evening hours, while construction crews repair the water main break.

Motorists were asked to follow posted detour routes around the construction site onto South Street and Dayton Crescent, according to borough police.
Traffic delays were expected in the immediate area, police said on Monday.

Police said trucks and buses will be permitted access through the work zone along Mount Airy, but will be guided through with police assistance.
Trucks were being asked to avoid traveling on Mount Airy Road as of Monday, according to information from Valentine.
No detours were set up in Bernards Township, according to township police.
