WHEN/WHERE:
Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Rite Aid, 123 Morristown Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924
WHY:
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., with more than 3.5 million cases diagnosed annually. The goal of the Tour is to save lives by detecting skin cancers early on and educating the public about skin cancer prevention by means of sun protection and the need for prompt, effective treatment.
Skin cancers found and removed early are almost always curable, which is why The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends that everyone visit a dermatologist annually for a professional skin exam, in addition to practicing monthly head-to-toe self exams.
BACKGROUND:
Since the Tour began in 2008, more than 20,000 people have received free screenings. More than 8,500 suspected precancers and cancers have been detected, including more than 350 suspected melanomas.
