Future Snow Days to Come Out of Spring Break
Bedminster School District assigned April dates for any necessary makeup days.

The Bedminster Township School District has approved days that will be used as snow days if they are needed, all in line with the dates determined by the Somerset Hills School District.
Superintendent Carolyn Koos said at Thursday’s board of education meeting that April 5, April 4, April 3, April 2 and April 1 will be used, in that order, as make-up days if school has to be closed over the next few months because of snow.
These days are part of the school’s spring break.

“We are lining up with Somerset Hills that is already using these,” Koos said.
This change had to be made because of days lost during Superstorm Sandy when the school was closed for seven days, eliminating all of the available snow days. Two of those days were made up on Nov. 8 and Nov. 9, and the rest are being made up by opening the school Jan. 21, Feb. 15, Feb. 18, June 19 and June 20.

But the district still needed to assign additional snow days in case of closures in the next few months.
Still, Koos said, they are hoping not to have to use them.
“We will try to in the meantime to utilize late starts and early outs so we can try to avoid taking days from spring break,” she said.
