ICYMI: Somerset County Man Arrested for Tresspassing While High on Molly, Police Say
Police arrested a 20-year-old Franklin Township resident on Saturday after he unlawfully entered a township residence and refused to leave.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Franklin Township resident, while high on Molly, a variation of MDMA, on Saturday after he unlawfully entered a township residence and refused to leave.
At was around 3:45 p.m. Franklin Township Police responded to a burglary in progress on McNair Court. The suspect, Benjamin Young, fled the residence before the police arrived.
“The investigation conducted by Franklin Police revealed that the victim, Jane Doe, was upstairs in her apartment when she heard what she believed to be the opening of a first floor sliding glass door,” according to the prosecutor’s office. “When she went down stairs to investigate, she observed defendant Young standing in her kitchen.”

Young refused the victims request to leave the residence until he was confronted by her boyfriend, police say.
He was found a short time later by a patrol officer, sitting on a porch of a New Brunswick Road residence. As the patrol officer approached Young, he attempted to flee, and, after a brief foot chase, he was apprehended.

Young was found to be in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest. He also told officers that he had ingested Molly.
He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset for treatment.
Young was charged with:
- Criminal Trespass, 4th Degree
- Possession of Marijuana (under 25 grams), a Disorderly Person Offense
He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail with bail set at $5,000 - cash only.
