Planning Board in Bernardsville on Thursday Before Labor Day

The Labor Day weekend will put a final pause for summer on the schedule before school and other municipal business returns to full swing. But there still are some meetings coming up this week, at least in Bernardsville.

Or perhaps not. The Bernardsville Council is due to hold an early meeting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday to discuss a proposal to pay for a synthetic turf field at the Upper Polo grounds. But Councilman Joe Rossi said the issue already have been addressed at last Saturday morning's special meeting to repeal a $1.2-million bond ordinance to fund the project, and he wasn't sure if the meeting will still be held.

The Bernardsville Borough Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29.

As the Labor Day weekend approaches, both Bedminster Township and Bernardsville Borough have posted on their websites that municipal offices will be closed for Labor Day next Monday, Sept. 2.

The Bernardsville Pool also closes on Labor Day.
