Most Paying More Than $2K in Housing Costs in the Hills
Census data shows more than 4,000 mortgaged homes.

Housing costs are varied throughout the Somerset Hills, with most residents paying more than $2,000 per month with a mortgage, according to information from the most recent census.
American Factfinder, through the United States Census Bureau, has gathered data about residents in the country, and breaks down the selected monthly owner costs and more through each individual town.
In Bedminster, where there are 2,713 housing units with a mortgage, 1,641 homeowners are paying more than $2,000 in terms of their selected monthly owner costs.

From there, 534 are paying $1,000 to $1,499, and 425 are paying $1,500 to $1,999.
Finally, 101 are paying $700 to $999, and 12 are paying $500 to $699. No one is paying less than $499.

There are 696 housing units without a mortgage, and costs of $400 or more in 685 of those, with the remaining 11 seeing monthly costs of $200 to $299.
In Bernardsville, the numbers are fairly similar, with, out of the 1,547 housing units with a mortgage, 1,409 seeing costs of more than $2,000.
From there, 74 homeowners see costs of $1,000 to $1,499, and 35 see costs of $700 to $999. Finally, 29 see costs of $1,500 to $1,999.
And of the 557 housing units without a mortgage in Bernardsville, all of them see costs of $400 or more.
