Bernardsville Pool Movie Night, 'King Lear' Rained Out on Thursday
'King Lear' also called off in Basking Ridge.

Thursday was set as movie night under the stars at the Bernardsville Pool, off Seney Drive across from the Bedwell Elementary School, but due to rain it has been again rescheduled for 8 p.m. this Sunday evening, Aug. 4, said Borough Recreation Director Cheryl Ferrante.
The movie, rescheduled from the previous week, is due to begin at dusk. The featured film will be "Wreck-It Ralph," said Ferrante.
Earlier during the day, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the nearby Bernardsville Middle School will be the site for this week's continuing collection of books for the upcoming book sale organized each August by the Somerset Hills American Association of University Women.

The collection of books and DVDs and CDs began on Monday, and continues through Thursday and then next Monday, August 5, according to the web site for the Somerset Hills AAUW.
Students and other volunteers are being asked to receive bags of books at the loading dock; sort and set up books on tables, and later pack up unsold books.

Over in Bedminster, the township Land Use Board scheduled for Thursday has been canceled. The next scheduled Land Use Board meeting is at 7 p.m. the following Thursday, Aug. 8.
Also on that day, the township is scheduled to hold a bulky waste disposal collection from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Details are online at the Bedminster Township website.
Unfortunately, rain also canceled Thursday night's production in Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge to see Trilogy Repertory Co.'s presentation (in cooperation with the Troupe of Friends from Westfield and the Bernards Township Parks and Recreation Department) of "King Lear." The play is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Bring your own seating, snacks and, in case of drizzle, rain gear.
The play is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The play would be called off in case of heavy rain.
