Bedminster Mayor Expected to be Steve Parker
Township committee and board of education hold their reorganization meetings Wednesday.

Township committeeman Steve Parker is expected to be voted in as the new mayor when the Bedminster Township Committee holds its annual reorganization meeting Wednesday.
Parker will be replacing former when his term expired in 2012.
A straw poll was taken at the first meeting after the November elections, and Parker was chosen as the newest mayor—an official vote will be held at the reorganization meeting.

“I think there’s a lot of stuff we need to do, and I’m very interested in shared services,” Parker said. “I think being able to do it from the middle of the dais will allow us to do it a little better, and we’ve got a good group of four other people.”
“The mayor doesn’t decide everything that goes on, I am one of five votes,” he added. “I think we’ll all work very well together.”

Parker will also be sworn in to office at the meeting after being elected for another term in the November elections. Also being sworn in is Lawrence Jacobs, who was elected to his first term on the committee.
Wednesday will also makr the board of education reorganization meeting.
Being sworn in to the board of education are Jeffrey Reaves, Jennifer Cerra-Johansson, Brian Haggerty and Laura Mally.
All four ran unopposed in the November elections.
Both reorganization meetings will be held at the Trump National Golf Club on Lamington Road at 7 p.m. A buffet dinner will follow the meeting at 8 p.m.
The dinner is $30 per person, and reservations were required by Dec. 27.
