Regulations Approved for Brush, Leaf Pick-Up

Bedminster approves a new resolution for locations for pick-ups.

To avoid any abuse of brush and leaf collection in Bedminster, the committee recently approve a resolution that mandates where collections will take place and when.

According to the resolution, brush collection will begin on the fourth Monday in April, and the brush must be at the curb no later than 8 a.m.

Brush drop-off will still be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Works facility on Miller Lane.

Residents will be restricted to one pile of brush per property, and it should be stacked so that all ends are facing the road edge.

Collection will take place only on certain roads, and those living on private roads cannot place brush piles on public roads.

Those roads for collection are Route 202; Lamington Road, from Route 206 to Route 202; Tuttle Avenue; Riverwood Avenue; Wildwood Avenue; Bedminster Terrace; Hillside Avenue; Steeple Chase; Deerhaven; Old Dutch Place; Old Dutch East; Old Stonehouse Road; Berkshire Court; Ski Hill; Oakura Road; Fairview Drive; Clucas Brook Road; O’Brien Court; Jordana Court; Desiree Court; Black River Road, from Herzog Bridge to Church; Southfield Drive; Union Grove Road; Lisk hill; Longview Road; Daly Road; Gatehouse Road; Autumn Ridge Road; Smoke Rise Road and Lane; Revere Drive; and Sgt. David Stoddard Court.

As for leaf collection, that will begin on the last Monday in October and continue through Nov. 30.

Leaves are also required to be placed at the edge of the roadway by 8 a.m. on the first day of the collection.

According to the resolution, crews will cover roads until all piles have been collected, or a maximum of three times each.

The same roads with brush collection will be visited for leaf collections.

In addition, the Public Works facility will be open for special brush and leaf drop-off, and residents can bring their materials to the building on the second Saturday in November from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
