School Board Races in Somerset Hills and Bedminster

Incumbents face competition from would-be new Board of Education members.

Tuesday's deadline for filing for November election ballots for Board of Education terms to begin in 2014 passed with races now in place for the three three-years spots on both the Somerset Hills and Bedminster Board of Education this November.

Three Bernardsville incumbent representatives for the Somerset Hills regional school will be joined on the ballot by two other borough residents.

Donna Coons, who is serving as board president, is an incumbent along with Robert J. Baker and also for Jerry Dorr. Dorr had resigned the previous month.

Bernardsville residents Patricia DeLeo, of 69 Mine Mount Road, and Gregory DiGioacchino, of 46 Somerset Ave., also filed for a place on the ballot in November.

Coons lives at 10 Stirling Road; Baker is a resident at 61 Olcott Avenue. Kurschus lives at 4 Dogwood Court in Bernardsville.

Four competiting for three seats in Bedminster

Three incumbent Bedminster Board of Education members will face competition from a newcomer, Howard Wolkow of 259 Long Meadow Road in Bedmister.

Incumbents on the school board who are seeking re-election are Judy Creelman, 120 Fairview Dr.; Julie Goetz, 2270 Lamington Road and Monica Burch, 24 Riverwood Ave. in Bedminster.

Burch is the newest board member. She was appointed to serve an unfulfilled term after former member Jason Anagonstis resigned last August.
